An awareness programme for financial literacy-cum-outreach programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was organised by district administration and district level centre for women (DLCW), Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Phek in collaboration with the SBI, NSCB & Postal Services on September 4.

A press release from district level centre for women MSK Phek stated that, DC Phek Sachin Jaiswal, in his keynote address highlighted the importance of availing government schemes and services provided under different bank institutions.

 Branch manager, SBI Phek, I. Temjen Changkiri spoke on various available services like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Life insurance scheme etc. He also mentioned the basic necessities of how to open bank account. Assistant branch manager SBI Rohit Kumar, spoke on digital banking, while assistant branch manager Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Khopenthung Jami spoke on how to avail different services provided under Nagaland State Cooperative Bank. Post master, Phek Nagaland, Wetshozou Mero highlighted various services under postal services, such as India Post Payment Bank, Janani Suraksha Yojana and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. District coordinator, DLCW, MSK Veposelu Naroh, spoke on the role of district level centre for women, MSK.

Earlier, greeting was shared by Dr. Vizovol Mekro, principal, Phek Government College in the programme chaired by Vilenuo Kapu, women welfare officer, DLCW MSK Phek. The programme concluded with distribution of IEC materials. Altogether, 450 participants took part in the programme and the target group included village level organisations (VLO) of Phek block, local entrepreneurs and educated unemployed youths under Phek town, town ward chairmen & members, Phek Government College fraternity & students.
