Ayushman Bharat workshop held in Longleng

A one day sensitization workshop on Ayushman Bharat and health and wellness centres for Village Health Councils, Primary Health Centres and sub centres was held at the CMO’s conference hall, Chief Medical Office, Longleng on February 6.

A press release from medical superintendent, in-charge CMO Longleng, Dr. Toshirenla stated that Dr. Imnameren Phom, in his keynote address, said that the government, or the medical department, needs constant help and assistance from village councils and village health committees for better implementation of any assignment. 
He encouraged them to take ownership in their respective villages and coordinate among each other for any kind work assigned to them. 
Phom also spoke on the aim of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which he said, was to improve access to quality healthcare and to reduce hospitalization expenditure protecting beneficiary families belonging to the poorer sections of society.
Delivering a welcome address, Dr. Toshirenla, told beneficiaries that they should consider themselves very fortunate. 
She also requested them to contribute in any way they could for the Health and Wellness Centre for the good of the general public. She assured them that with the Health and Wellness Centre in their village, sicknesses could be identified at the initial stages and timely treatment administered in their own village.
District program manager, Viroli Sangtam, gave a brief introduction to the Health and Wellness Centre through a slide show. 
The program was chaired by DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr. Imnameren Phom. The workshop was attended by village council chairmen; village health committees of Tangha village, Yangching village and Buranamsang village; staff from CMO’s office, and medical officer of Primary Health Centres.
