B’desh re-assures commitment against terrorism

The Bangladesh government on Tuesday re-assured its commitment and cooperation with the Indian government in the fight against terrorism.
 “We have always maintained our strong opposition against all kinds of extremism and terrorism. We have successfully almost rooted out terrorist from our soil,” Bangladesh delegation team leader and Deputy Commissioner of Jamalpur district, Ahmad Kabir said .
 Kabir was speaking at the inaugural session of the meeting of the District Magistrates/Deputy Commissioners for Cluster-9 between bordering districts of India/Meghalaya & Bangladesh held at Shillong in Meghalaya.
 He said that the Bangladesh government will continue to work with the Indian Government in this connection.
 The Bangladesh delegation team leader also expressed  concern on issues of infiltration along the international border, smuggling, preparation of boundary pillars, and facilitating of exporting coal. 
 “I am hopeful that this meeting will come up with the possible ways and means to resolve the pending issues between the countries. The officers concern present in this meeting will discuss issues in a positive manner,” Kabir said.
