Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) principal secretary I Himato Zhimomi Thursday informed that the ban on sale of formalin-injected fish in the State was still in force.

Talking to Nagaland Post on the sidelines of a programme held to launch health kiosk and training of lecturers on peer education at Mount Olive College here, Himato warned that anyone found violating the ban would be taken to task.

The principal secretary claimed that the H&FW department personnel were regularly checking for any formalin-injected fish, though he admitted that the department could not check each and every fish sold in the markets and urged the people to be vigilant in this regard.
