Bandh paralyses life in KA hills for second day

On the second day of the 48-hour bandh called by Indigenous Tribes Protection of Karbi Anglong (ITPKA), the twin districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong remained paralysed.

According to Northeast Now, barring a few two-wheelers and private cars, no other means of transport was available in Diphu, the headquarter of Karbi Anglong district.

Educational institutions, banks and businesses did not function. In Bokajan, which remain unaffected by bandhs most of the times, there was total response to the bandh today. There was no traffic on NH 39 and NH 36. Shops, businesses and banks were closed.

Likewise, Bakalia, Howraghat, Dokmoka, Vothung-aji, Samuguri and other places in Karbi Anglong were also remained shut. In West Karbi Anglong- Baithalangso, Dokamukam, Jengkha, Kheroni and Hawaipur were shut for the day.
