In view of the sealing of Borlengri area without relaxation by the concerned authority, the Borlengri Area Villager’s Union (BAVU) has cautioned that in the eventually of any untoward incident the union will not be held responsible.

A press release from BAVU chairman Nengchitmeren and secretary Mhao Odyuo stated that, repeated appeals made to the government authorities through DC Dimapur for relaxation has fallen on deaf ear.
Borlengri Area Villager’s Union stated that due to the sealing of the border area, residents consisting of thirteen villages, of which majority are Nagas were facing untold suffering as even the medical emergencies were not allowed to pass through.
Borlengri Area Villager’s Union also pointed out that thousands of students had to go 20 kms to and from round through Dillia gate to get their mark sheets and admissions done in different schools and colleges.
Claiming this as “a sort of harassment and step motherly treatment meted out to the public and the student community”, the BAVU cautioned that public unrest was going on. BAVU therefore appealed to all the NGOs, tribal hohos and student bodies to voice out together on humanitarian ground to avoid unrest.
