Borlengri Area Villagers’ Union (BAVU), comprising of nine villages, has requested the government of Nagaland to lift border sealing along the Borlengri area.

In a press release, the union stated that it had written a letter to the home commissioner on May 16, 2020 citing problems faced by the residents due to border sealing and sought the government to address the issue at an earliest.
Also, on May 19, BAVU said a joint meeting was held between Borlengri area leaders and deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur at Dillai gate on the relaxation of border sealing under Borlengri area. At the meeting, the union said the DC assured the leaders to look into the issue and open the border at least for medical emergency. The union said that its chairman also met DC on May 21.
However, despite all the efforts made by leaders of Borlengri area villagers, union said the administration has not been able solve the issue.
Therefore, the union has requested to the responsible authority to intervene and lift border sealing.
