The students’ unions of Bailey Baptist College (BBC) and Mount Tiyi College (MTC) of Wokha district have expressed their unconditional support to All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) on the issue of land encroachment of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.

A press release by BBCSU president, Chonchithung Y Emungrui stated that the two colleges also endorsed the set up of a scholarship cell, permanent settlement of scholarship and also demarcation & concrete walls to be built in and around the demarcated land of all government colleges and polytechnics. This, the release stated, was in accordance with issues raised by the office of the ANCSU for the upliftment and welfare of the students’ community.

The unions also requested all stakeholders to support the concerns of the student community as these issues compromise the welfare of the student community as a whole.

It also urged the state government to resolve the issue at the earliest.
