In a bid to revive Pfutsero Town as the land of cosmos, Kalos Society took initiative to revive cosmos flowers by organising series of competition under the banner “cosmos kaleidoscope- reseeding Pfütsero town” with the theme “my beautiful Pfutsero”.

Member of the society, Weto Kapfo said Pfutsero was once known as “the land of cosmos”, the colourful heus of white, pink and maroon adorned the landscapes of the town which flourished and spread vibrantly every autumn with an interesting bliss since the 1960s.

However, Kapfo said due to expansion of the town, human activities deterred the growth of the beautiful flowers cosmos slowly faded since the 1980s.

In this regard, Kalos Society with the motive to revive the once popularly known as cosmos town planned a mission to reseed Pfutsero and its adjoining areas with cosmos by organising an event to promote and preserve the natural beauty of cosmos in Pfutsero.

Meanwhile, declaration of winners and prize distribution programme of the event was held marking culmination of the event at Pfutsero town on Friday.

The competition included cosmos landscape competition, cosmos photography competition on the theme evincing cosmos, poetry competition on “colours of Pfütsero”, colony cleanliness/beautification competition, videography competition on the theme “Pfütsero in motion”, painting competition on “Adorn Pfütsero”, quartet competition on the song “It is my beautiful Pfutsero” by Subongmiba Aonok and solo competition on the song “Pfütsero” by Methaneilie Jütakhrie.

The event was supported by Nagaland’s tourism department, office of the additional deputy commissioner Pfütsero and Pfütsero Police.
