The directorate of AH & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Nagaland, Kohima under National Livestock Mission (NLM) kick started an orientation and capacity building training on latest techniques of Veterinary Extension Services for selected block farmers of the district, at the Chief Veterinary Officer’s office Zunheboto from July 10.
A press release from CVO Zunheboto, Dr. Toshi Aier stated that, altogether twenty numbers of block livestock farmers in two batches were trained by the resource persons, Dr. Gwanthenlo Tsela, VAS (OP) and Dr. Bocto Sumi VAS Vety. Hospital, Zunheboto respectively.
The release stated that many instances of unattended treatable/manageable cases in remote areas appeared to have been causing negligible loss which has compounded to huge cumulative economic losses in the long run for the poor farmers due to lack of knowledge and proper extension services network.
The CVO expressed optimism that in future the impact of this training program would minimize such economic losses not only for the trained person but even for their surrounding farmers.
