Boby wins 7th Mr World title

Arambam Boby claimed the record seventh Mr World title on December 16 at the 10th WBPF World Body Building and Physique Sports Championship at Chiang Mai in Thailand. The event was organised under the supervision of World Body Building and Physique Sports Federation.

Arambam Boby from Manipur, who currently serves at Railways Sports Promotion Board, won the gold medal for India in the 80 kg category to claim the title for the seventh time while N Sarbo Singh, who is also serving at the Railways Sports Promotion Board, finished second in the same category to settle for silver medal. 

Meanwhile, Leitanthem Dinesh Singh won a gold for India in the Junior men’s 70 kg) categoryon December 14 while W Jamuna finished with a bronze medal in the women’s body building competition.

Dinesh won a silver medal in Junior Mr. Asia 2017 held at Seoul City, South Korea and Gold Medal in Junior Mr. World 2017 and 2018 held at Mongolia and also bagged gold medal at 52nd Asian body Building and Physique Championship 2018.

Manipur chief minister, N. Biren Singh had recently announced that the seventh time Mr. World title winner, Arambam Boby Meitei would be given a grand reception once he return to the state.

If the body builder desires, provision for awarding appropriate reward including a government service in the state would be considered by the state government, N Biren Singh added.
