A book on “Nagaland economy, its elementary features” authored by Dr. Yelhi Vero was released on Tuesday, at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur.

The book was released by Morung Express, publisher Dr. Aküm Longchari.

In his brief highlight on the book, Dr. Yelhi said it was important for the students’ community to be aware of the state’s economy as it has been included in the curriculum.

The author said it took him four years of preparation to come out with the publication.

The subject on Nagaland economy is a vast one, and the author through this edition wants to present the basic features of the economy.

He further thanked Artworks Kohma for the design, layout of the book and his wife Eneingulou (Apule), who supported him in preparing the book. The book is handy for all especially to teachers and students, scholars and policy planners and competitive exams aspirants.

While releasing the book Dr. Aküm Longchari congratulated the author and described the book as ‘wholesome in many ways’.

He said the state needs more voices like the author and such book should be read in schools and colleges, and for laymen and Naga entrepreneurs to understand the state economics and this is where they should start from.

Lonchari said that the book aptly points out the strengths of the state as well as the areas where it needs improvements besides showing the prospects for the state to move ahead towards progress. He also called the release of the book ‘timely’ in the present context and further mentioned that the book talks in facts and figures rather than abstract ideas and shows what kind of future Nagas can have.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Eastern Christian College (ECC) Dimapur academic dean Temsutula and later word of prayer was proposed by resource centre, Dimapur executive director reverend Dr. Coppe Mero.

The book will be available at academic book house, old NST, Kohima Modern book depot, deluxe point and books & books, Midland, in Dimapur.
