Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Thejawelie Gregory Sote released a short story booked titled “Tefü Dzeda” at Kohima village here on Monday.

Late Rheichalie Pienyü first translated Tefü Dzeda from Aesop’s Fables into Tenyidie, which were written in Greek language in the year 1904, containing 38 different short stories, said publisher of the book Prasielie Pienyü.

Prasielie, who is also the great grandson of late Rheichalie said “since it is a famous book of fables, some elderly people, scholars and well wishers requested to re-publish this short story book. I therefore, published the book in the original form and hope that the readers get benefit from it”. Releasing the book at a simple function, Thejawelie appreciated the efforts of Prasielie in re-publishing the aged old book.

He expressed hope that the book will be useful for all age groups and would be included in the school syllabus. He also hoped that the English translation of the book translated from Greek would also be retrieved and re-published for the benefit of all. Chairman P Khel Council, Kruyie Pienyu and president Kohima District GB Association Vineipra Pienyu also spoke on the occasion. The programme commenced with an invocation by Neikiezoü Kire while Khriesatuonuo Pienyü & friends enthralled the gathering with “tati pfhe”.

Chairing the programme, Zeneituo Pienyü informed that the book will be available at Peak Agency, near Baptist High, Kohima.
