BRIDGE training on routine immunization

Boosting Routine Immunization Demand Generation (BRIDGE) training programs on routine immunization for frontline workers, ANMs, ASHAs, and AWWs were conducted in all blocks of Dimapur District, viz Medziphema block, Dimapur Sadar, Dhansiripar block, Niuland block, Kuhuboto block, and Chumukedima block from March 1 to 15.

A press release from RCH-UIP Dimapur stated that the resource persons were DPO, RCH-UIP Dimapur, Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema, district community mobilizer, Dimapur and block ASHA coordinator Dimapur Sadar. 

The training was divided into three sessions. During the training, topics on AEFI, basics of immunization, interpersonal communication, planning and monitoring of routine immunization were deliberated. 

The trainers were also introduced to new vaccines made available by the department of Health & Family Welfare. The trainees also participated in presentation-based games, group discussion, role-playing, and audio-visual interactive sessions. A total of 140 ASHAs, 140 AWWs and 14 ANMs from all the blocks participated in the training.
