Bumrah storms into top 10 of ICC Test rankings

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah broke into top 10 for the first time in ICC Test rankings on the back of his 4th 5-wicket haul which helped India clinch their first win in the inaugural edition of World Test Championship. According to India Today, Bumrah, who became the first Asian bowler to pick up a five-wicket haul in South Africa, England, Australia and West Indies, climbed nine places to No.7 with a career-high 774 points. Bumrah’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who scored his 10th Test hundred in India’s World Test Championship campaign opener, gained one position to move to 11th spot. Pat Cummins, meanwhile, has strengthened his hold on the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers, reaching career-high ranking points. Trent Boult, who reached the milestone of 250 Test wickets as New Zealand drew the Test series in Sri Lanka, has re-entered the top 5.
