CAA: SC likely to hear pleas on December 18

The petition filed by the Indian Union Muslim League against the Citizenship Amendment Act is likely to be heard by the Supreme Court on December 18. Several petitions filed by political parties and organizations related to the amended Act is also likely to be heard on the day.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, All Assam Students Union (AASU) and Tripura royal scion and chairperson of Joint Movement Against CAB, Pradyut Debbarman have also filed petitions in the Supreme Court challenging the amended Act. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra including Congress leader and former minister Jairam Ramesh also moved the apex court.
