 A candle light march was organized by local leader and sitting MLA, Laisam Semai  to pay tribute to warrant officer Birendra Singh Yadav of Assam Rifles, a resident of Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, who was ‘killed in action’ in an insurgent attack on October  4 2020 in Jairampur sub division of Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh. 

A press release by PRO (Defence) stated that, approximately 250 residents of Jairampur took out a candlelight march at two different locations from Jairampur market to Assam Rifles gate in Jairampur and from Football stadium to Police Station Nampong in Nampong from 4 to 5 pm 

The release stated locals have expressed anger over the barbaric act by insurgents and pledged their support to the security forces who have been striving hard for long to maintain peace in the region.
