Career guidance seminars  held at Niuland, Chumoükedima

Niuland Area Students’ Union (NASU) in collaboration with district administration conducted career guidance seminar at conference hall of ADC, Nuiland on May 11.

A press release from ADC Nuiland stated that, resource persons were Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC Chumukedima, Er. Narisen Y Jami SDO (PHED) Niuland, Captain Mayank Assam Rifles and K.F Hekavi FM, SDIC Niuland.

The resource persons highlighted on the opportunities, various roles and career prospects in their respective professions and also elaborated on the procedures and recruitment to these services. 

Thejavizo Nakhro, EAC Chumukedima spoke on the career prospects of civil services & allied services while Er. Narisen Y Jami, SDO PHED, Niuland highlighted the career prospects in technical services particularly in the field of Engineering. Captain Mayank, Assam Rifles gave an in-depth talk on defense services as a career option and K.F Hekavi, FM SDIC, Niuland spoke on entrepreneurship.

The seminar was attended by more than 100 students from schools in and around Niuland town who also interacted with the resource persons over the course of the programme.  The moderator of the seminar was Yanthungbemo Kikon, EAC Nihokhu and vote of thanks was delivered by Yepeto Aye, president, Niuland Area Students’ Union.   

Chumoükedima Gorkha Youth (CGY) conducted career guidance seminar for Class 8 and above students-cum-leaders orientation programme for leaders at Nepali Baptist Church (NBC) Chumoükedima on May 11.

A press release from CGY media cell stated that resource persons were Angel Sonari for career guidance and pastor Robert Aley for leaders orientation.

Angel informed the students about the various available streams/courses after passing the HSLC examinations, while Robert Aley, said that team work was need of the hour to bring positive change in society. 

The programme was chaired by Tara Chettri, general secretary CGY, invocation by Manju Malla, youth director NBCC, welcome address was given by Manoj Shrestha, president CGY, short speech by Jacob Sundas, sports secy CGY and benediction was offered by Beckey Panthy, finance secy CGY.
