Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) has appealed to all members and all citizens of Phek district to extend all possible help to people affected by natural calamities.

In a press release, CBCC executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo requested all the churches under Chakhesang Baptist Church Council to pray for the weather in the next Sunday service on August 5, and continue to uphold the affected people in prayers and extend help within their reach in terms of relief.

Chakhesang Baptist Church Council asserted that the road leading to Phek district was badly affected, saying the road in some places has been washed away completely and there were road blocks at several locations due to landslides.

The council stated that the block in the river below North Kikruma was causing a temporary lake and posing threat to paddy fields, properties and people living nearby. In this regard, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council has requested church leaders, public leaders of all villages and towns especially those living close to the affected roads to render voluntary services to clear the roads.

Appreciating the government agencies for their intervention, the Church further requested them to put more efforts to help people through all possible means.
