CCSU cautions erring government employees

While cautioning that strict actions would be initiated against erring government employees, the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) stated that negligence of government officials in performing their duties was one of the stumbling blocks for development of the district.

A press release by CCSU president, Chingmak Kumchuba and general secretary, Ebou Naset stated that it had inspected all government offices on September 23 and 24 consecutively. During the inspection, the confederation found that district HoDs of Transport office, PWD(R&B), PWD (N/H), Supply office were not present in the station and no official charge were assigned in some offices.
During the inspection, CCSU also found out that offices of the superintendent engineer (PWD), additional chief engineer (PWD), Assistant Estate, Evaluation, Khadi & Village Industry, Sericulture, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection were found completely closed. Likewise, many ministerial staffs were found absent for a year or month’s time. Confederation stated that general public of Tuensang were compelled to put in efforts for visiting offices just to get signature of officers and other simple tasks. CCSU also urged the district administration to immediately look into the matter at the earliest for welfare of general public of the district.
