Central MoHFW official tours Kiphire

An official from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi, state mentor for EGSA and deputy commissioner of maternal health, Dr. Sumita Ghosh along with state and district team for Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland visited various health units in Kiphire district.
A press release from district media officer, Kiphire, Atsali T. stated that, the visit was to assess different programs under health for extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA).
The team visited District Hospital Kiphire (DHK), Community Health Centre Pungro (CHC), Primary Health Centre (PHC) Likhimro and Sub Centre at Singrep village. Dr. Sumita assessed core activities like Mission Indradhanush (MI)-EGSA, Antenatal Care Coverage, LaQshya, health and wellness centres and district hospital strengthening. Gap analysis was done and also discussed with various stakeholders including the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, Mohammad Ali Shihab. Dr. Sumita also stressed on the importance of strengthening the district hospital. PHC Likhimro, which has been identified to be upgraded into a health and wellness centre, was assessed and the state was asked to expedite the up-gradation process.
She will discuss their findings and gaps in the district with the state government and the ministry of Health and Family Welfare for necessary action. Kiphire is the only “Aspirational” district identified in the state under the GSA.
