Aier made this statement while responding to Nagaland Pradesh Congress committee (NPCC) allegation that the election department had done partiality in the issuance of forms for appointment of polling agents.

Aier informed that form 10, which was for the appointment of polling agent was given to the candidates on demand and not to the political parties. He further said that a candidate may appoint a polling agent and two relief agents for each polling station.

He disclosed that total number of form 10, given in the whole state by CEO office to the candidates of the general election to Lok Sabha from Nagaland parliamentary on demand included- K.L. Chishi (INC) 4901, Hayithung Tungoe (NPP) 4020, Tokheho Yepthomi (NDPP) 10,306, and Dr. M.M. Thromwa Konyak (Independent) 400.

Aier said the office of the CEO and the DEO and AROs for facilitating the candidates provided the form 10 to the candidates and the numbers given were as per the demands made by candidates/election agents. He clarified that any candidate that needed more could typed out exact format as contained in the conduct of election rules 1961, handbook  provided to all candidates and can download from ECI website.

Further, he clarified that providing copies of form 10 was continued by the election department as done in the earlier elections.

Aier therefore said that there was no question of any partiality or any kind of dereliction of duty on the part of the election department in giving copies of form 10 to the candidates/election agents.
