Certificate course on ‘horti crops’

Three-month certificate course on “Post harvest management of horticultural crops” commenced at Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Medziphema on October 22. 

A press release from CIH Medziphema stated that, objective of the certificate course was to skill the rural unemployed youths on post harvest management, food processing and value addition of horticulture crops which will enable them to be fully equipped to run and manage pack houses, cold storage and food processing unit. 

Trainees from Tuensang, Dimapur, Kiphire, Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur districts will be given hands-on practical demonstrations on value addition of different horticultural crops grown in the region. They will also be enrolled in reputed institutions of food processing for internship at the end of the course.
