Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) held its general meeting-cum-special seminar under the theme, “The role of the churches in combating unemployment in Nagaland with special reference to the present COVID-19 pandemic” on August 25 at Bethesda AG Church, Walford, Dimapur. 

A press release by CFD chairman, Rev. Moses Murry stated that, Rev. Fr. Paul Maipan Sdb director Vocational Training Center, Dimapur, Prem Kumar, Pinnacle Training Institute, Dimapur, Rev. Fr. Roy, director AIDA, Dimapur were the resource persons. They expressed the role of the churches as the most important platform in providing developmental skills to young people of Nagaland who have lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. 

Nini Sekhose pronounced the vote of thanks. The first session was started by Rev. Dr. C.P Anto as the moderator. Rev. Vitoshe Swu offered invocation prayer and Rev. Moses Murry gave welcome address. The second session of general body meeting-cum-election of the new office bearers began with the welcome address by the chairman Rev. Moses Murry and Rev. R. P Murry pronounced the invocation. Rev. Dr. C.P Anto did the presentation of the CDF ministry report for the year 2018-2020 highlighting all the activities. Rev. Moses Murry, chairman tabled the CFD amended constitution for the general body approval and the members accepted it unanimously. Rev. Dr. N. Paphino pronounced the word of appreciation to the former CFD office bearers for their tireless effort and contribution toward the society during their tenure and specially the COVID-19 pandemic. The selection committee consisted of five senior pastors, headed by Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, as the convener of selection committee. Installation was done by Rev. Dr. Dozo, advisor and blessings pronounced by Rev. Tenga Seb. The new members for 2020-2023 are Rev. Moses Murry chairman; Rev. Vitoshe Swu vice-chairman; Rev. Dr. C.P Anto secretary; Rev. Vangpong Phom joint secretary; Rev. T. Ariba Imchen treasurer; Rev. Kele Angami finance secretary; Pastor Yanpemo Lotha information secretary. Altogether, 42 pastors and church leaders from different churches attended the programme. Rev. N. Tzudir blessed the fellowship meal.
