CGY celebrates 205th Bhanu Jayanti

Chümoukedima Gorkha Youth (CGY) celebrated 205th Bhanu Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Nepali poet, Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya on July 13 at Chümoukedima Town Council.

A press release by CGY stated that in his address, NPP general secretary, Sasank Ghatraj, talked about conservation of culture in a positive manner.
He said Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya made the most momentous contributions to language and society and that his sense of responsibility towards the society shall always be engraved in history. 
Stating that “unity in diversity” is the strength of Nagaland, Ghatraj said this cultural principle should always be maintained and followed. 
EAC Chümoukedima, Thejavizo Nakhro, urged all to make positive contributions and suggested practicing valuable ethics rather than just success.
He congratulated all the awardees and requested the students and the youth present to be the “pilot” of their own lives and steer themselves to success in life. The celebration began with floral tributes to the poet followed by Shardhanjali by pandit Subhas Parajuli, while poem of Bhanu Bhakta was recited by CGY finance secretary, Nicky Tamang.
The session was chaired by Beckey Panthy and Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima, pastor Robert Aley, spoke on the significance of the celebration of the day; welcome address was delivered by executive member, CGU, MB Raut. A total of 20 meritorious students were also felicitated on the occasion.
