Chakhesang tribe won the 3rd edition Folk tune title organized by harmony society and sponsored by Nagaland tourism held at Kisama on December 8.

The competition focused on preservation and showcasing the age old folk songs and tunes of the Naga tribes of Nagaland. All of the 16 tribes of Nagaland participated in the competition except Angami tribe.  Singer, composer and also judge of the competition, Andrew Thong said organizing such folk tune competition at present is significant in the society as it encourages the young generation to revive their diminishing tradition and help them cling on their roots. He said it is an initiative to keeping their rich culture alive and it must continue.

The second and third positions were bagged by Konyak tribe and Garo tribe respectively.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
