With a total prize money of Rs.22,85,000 set for the upcoming North East Dr. T Ao Trophy, the champions will walk home with a cash prize of Rs.10,00,000 along with trophy and citation.

The week-long tournament will be jointly organised by Department of Youth Resources and Sports and Nagaland Football Association. The technical aspects of the tournament will be conducted as per the guidelines of All India Football Federation (AIFF). 

The tournament is one of the biggest football event in the region held in memory of the legendary Indian footballer Dr. Talimeren Ao. 

Briefing about the upcoming tournament in Kohima, advisor to chief minister of Nagaland, Abu Metha and other members of the organising committee said that the state will be hosting the tournament for the second time. Metha also informed that IG Stadium, Kohima has got a facelift with flood lights and locker rooms which are of international standards. 

Four states, namely- Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam and Mizoram have already arrived for the tournament on Saturday.   The department of Information Technology & Communication has also launched the website for the tournament (www.drtaotrophy.nagaland.gov.in).
