The 22nd annual sports of Agape College, Padumpukhuri, Dimapur got underway on August 3 with Apeto Assumi, president, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) gracing the opening function as chief guest.

The chief guest in his speech said sports play a pivotal role in the lives of theologians as it not only helps to keep one’s body and mind healthy but also bring the people together building relationships of peace and friendship among nations.  He was of the view that sports can also be used as a medium to spread the gospel of Christianity.

Stating that people with different professional background are excelling in sports and are competing in international levels, he urged the students to make sports as part of their daily curricular activities.

As a token of love, he donated a sum of Rs. 20,000 towards the sports meet of the college.  He was accompanied by village council chairman of Padumpukhuri village, Vitoka Katty and GB Kakuho Sumi.
