Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench has issued an interim stay order on the appointment of teachers, directing the school education director not to issue appointment order(s) to any of the candidates till the next hearing.

All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers’ Association (ANPSTA) had filed a petition against the recently declared results of the teachers’ recruitment. The case has been listed for hearing June 27.

The Court order issued by deputy registrar (judicial), Gauhati High Court, Kohima bench, however, stated that the respondent (state government) would be at the liberty to come up with a petition for modification, alternation or vacation of the interim order if they got any valid ground.

On June 11, ANPSTA warned that association members were ready to take even more severe steps if the authority was not willing to comply with their demands.
