Making its stand clear, NSCN (K) chairman, S.S. Khaplang has stated that his government would reject any political solution within Indian constitution unless it was the “sovereignty solution”.

Talking to Nagaland Post through phone, MIP secretary NSCN (K) read out a statement by S.S. Khaplang where the chairman declared that NSCN (K) would not be involved in the forthcoming “forced Indian election” next year in Nagaland.

Stating that Indian election has nothing to do with the struggle for sovereignty, the statement said that Nagas held a plebiscite in 1951 where 99% voted for sovereignty and thereafter rejected the first Indian election on 1952.

NSCN (K) chairman also cautioned any NSCN/GPRN “authority” found involved in the Indian election process and warned that they would be “penalized” as per the laws and rules of “Yehzahbo”.
