A new water supply line to Alichen, the headquarters of 2nd NAP Battalion, Mokokchung district was inaugurated on Friday. Alichen water Supply project under NRDWP was taken up in 2011 at a cost of Rs. 95 lakhs and it was inaugurated by Er. I. Chuba Aier Executive Engineer PHED, Mokokchung Division.

Er. Chuba in his inaugural speech said, with the support of public the project was completed in time and expressed hope that scarcity of water at Alichen would be drastically reduced.

Giving details of expenditure incurred on the project, the executive engineer said even though there was a number of water supply projects being undertaken by the department in the district, he had taken Alichen project with keen interest to ensure that it was commissioned at the earliest.

The public of Alichen expressed happiness to the executive engineer and his team of officers for fulfilling their long cherish of safe drinking water.
