Christ King Higher Secondary School holds sports week

Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima conducted its annual Sports from March 20th -22nd. NCS, Director, Youth Resources and Sports, Akumla Chuba,  was the special guest on the inaugural day of the Sports week.

A press release by Rector and Parish Priest, Fr. Paul stated that   Akumla Chuba, in her address,  stressed on the importance of discipline and to learn from the success and failure. She said sport persons encounter success and failure so it is important to handle successes and failures in life. 

She stated that sports bring people together, and teaches people to respect one another despite  differences.  No sports person is above the rules of the game, likewise we should all learn to play a fair game in all stages of life, she added.  the programme began with a prayer of blessing by the vice-principal,  Sr. Melissa and words of welcome by Rector and Parish Priest, Fr. Paul.  The students of primary school put up a colorful drill display and the vote of thanks pronounced by the Principal Fr. LinusLonuo. The four houses marched rhythmically to the tunes of the AGC (Adolescence Girls Club) pipe band.

The sports day preparation began with a half Cross country race held on March 9 and culminated on March 22 with the Red house as the overall champions, Blue house as runners- up  followed by Yellow house and Green house.
