Clouded Leopard is mascot of 2022 National Games

Clouded Leopard, the state animal of Meghalaya will be the mascot for the National Games 2022. 

The decision was taken at the first executive committee meeting of the National Games 2022 chaired by Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh on Monday. 
Clouded Leopard is one of the wild cat that live throughout the forests of Garo, Khasi and Jaintia  Hills.
Lyngdoh said a competition will also be conducted to finalise the Logo and the Theme of the games. 
“The members agreed that the Clouded leopard will be the mascot for the National Games. A competition to design a smiling clouded leopard will however be opened to all,” he said. Lyngdoh said a sub-committee will be formed to finalise the number of sporting events, venues and sports infrastructure. 
Meghalaya will be the third northeastern state after Manipur and Assam to host the National Games.
