The cabinet constituted a High Powered Committee (HPC) with chief minister Neiphiu Rio as chairman/convener, deputy CM, Y Patton as co-chairman and health & family welfare minister Pangnyu Phom as spokesperson.

Informing this to a section of media persons here after a cabinet meeting at the civil secretariat Monday, Rio said the cabinet also decided to appoint planning & coordination minister Neiba Kronu and IT&C adviser Mmhonlumo Kikon as members of the committee and spokespersons of the state government. State chief secretary has been made as member secretary. HPC will look into policy matters relating to COVID-19, including supervision of the State War Room.

On arrival of huge number of returnees, Rio said the State government has decided to move out the returnees that are already in quarantine centre, tested negative and had come from green zone of North-eastern State so that fresh returnees could occupy the quarantine centres.
