Designated officer of food safety and chief medical officer Kohima, Dr. Ritu Thurr, has revoked the suspension of license of a popular baker in Kohima.

In a press release, CMO Kohima Dr. Ritu Thurr said the improvement notice was served on popular bakers on June 22, 2018 for lack of hygiene and sanitary practices under Section 32 of FSSAI.

Subsequent to serving a compliance letter on July 20, CMO said the food safety officials inspected the bakery on July 23, but the storage still lacked hygiene practices.

Therefore, CMO said the food license issued was suspended on July 24, 2018 under Section 32 (2) of Food Safety & Standard Act, 2006.

After a closure of six days, the bakery submitted a letter on July 30 inviting officials to revisit their storage for statement rectification proof.

Accordingly, CMO said food safety & standard officials visited the manufacturing unit with remarks on some compliance to be completed on July 31, 2018. The officials revisited the unit and found the rectification complied to on August 2 and subsequently the letter, dated August 4,was served revoking the suspension.
