College students abstain from classes

DIMAPUR, AUG 13 (NPN) | Publish Date: 8/13/2018 12:20:26 PM IST

College students under the aegis of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) continued to abstain from classes Monday to press for a charter of demands including settlement of Kohima Science College (KSC) Jotsoma land encroachment issue, permanent settlement of scholarship issue etc.

According to ANCSU, student volunteers were deployed in various institutions to ensure that the college students were abstaining from classes. Urging the state government to address its genuine demands at the earliest, the ANCSU reaffirmed that agitation would continue until the demands were fulfilled.

ANCSU has appealed to all the right thinking citizens to support the genuine demands of the students and also sought cooperation of the college authorities and students. Further, ANCSU thanked all its volunteers, students and college administrations for extending unflinching support.

Meanwhile, the union has warned against speculation and circulating fake news with regard to the ongoing agitation. ANCSU informed that any information or notice would be issued through print media and college student executives.
