Colony council seizes and destroys liquor bottles

Enforcing the Nagaland Liquor Prohibition Act, the council of High School Colony, Purana Bazaar Dimapur conducted checking on illegal sale of liquor in the colony and seized a number of bottles of assorted liqour bottles on September 6. 

According to colony council chairman, David Achumi, the checking was conducted in presence of colony GB Z. Zhevito Aye and the seized items were destroyed in presence of personnel of Police outpost, Purana Bazaar village following a prayer by Yevito Achumi, Assistant prayer convenvor, Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar.

Further, the colony council has strongly warned the residents that anyone found selling liquor in the jurisdiction of the colony shall be evicted from the colony.
