Community library inaugurated at Lasumi village

Community Library at Lasumi village was inaugurated under the aegis of Sarvahitey in collaboration with Nagaland State Legal Service Authority (NSLSA) on May 8.

A press release from NSLSA public relations assistant stated that, co-founder Sarvahitey Prem Prakash addressed the gathering by encouraging the members to inculcate the habit of reading on a positive note. He also called the students to conduct competitive book reading and writing reviews among the students’ community, apart from managing and running the library.  In this line, he assured prizes for best reviews. 

Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) chairman Lungshithung Ezung while appreciating the noble venture of Sarvahitey also enlightened the gathering on the opportunities at their disposal, and added that mere academic reading was not enough to have a civilized life. He stressed that PDLSA was always ready to be of assistance.

Earlier the programme was chaired by Meseweu Therie, secretary, Lasumi Students Union and welcome address was delivered by Kewekope Marhu, VDB secy. About 700 hundred books on different topics, fiction, biographies etc was donated to the library. 

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
