Condolence messages on K. Thong’s demise

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Tseminyu Region president K. Thong passed away on July 15 at his native place Sendenyu. Various organizations and individuals have sent in condolences over his passing.
Neiphiu Rio: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock and sadness on learning of Kenyüyhung Thong’s demise.
A condolence note from the chief minister said late K. Thong joined government service in 1976 as an LDA at DC’s Office Kohima. He later joined the Police Department as a sub-inspector and continued to serve until his retirement as a Deputy Commandant in 2017, it said.
Rio said that throughout his life, Thong had served the people in various capacities such as judicial secretary (2013-2016) and then as vice president (2017 till date) of Sendenyu Chipwen Union; chairman of Sendenyu Village Council (2017 till date); and as president, NDPP Tseminyu Region from 2017 till he breathed his last.
Calling the departed a gentleman who had a distinguished service record as well as a warm personality, the chief minister said that Thong was the recipient of the Governor’s Commendation Certificate (1999) as well as the President’s Police Gold Medal (2001). “He was an active and dedicated leader who contributed his best towards the upliftment of the party and in his demise, we have lost a capable and efficient leader and a friend who will be dearly missed” the condolence note stated.
Rio, on behalf of himself, his wife and family offered deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and conveyed prayers for the everlasting love of Almighty God to fill the emptiness created by his demise.
Rio also conveyed prayers for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NDPP: NDPP has expressed shock and sadness over the unexpected death of K. Thong. A condolence message from NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak said that late K. Thong had been a dedicated party-man from the initial phase of the party till date and was working unceasingly for the welfare of the party in particular and the people of his area in general. Calling his demise a great loss, to both the party and the people of Tseminyu region, Chingwang, on his own behalf and on behalf of the NDPP rank and file, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The condolence message hoped that God Almighty would grant solace to all his loved ones at this time of pain and sorrow.
R. Khing: Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Women Resource Development, on behalf of himself, his wife and all rank and file of NDPP Tseminyu region, has expressed deep shock and sadness at the untimely demise of K. Thong.
A condolence message from the advisor sad late K. Thong was a well known and decorated police officer who served in different capacities and retired as Dy. Commandant, before joining active social and political service.
Thong was also a proud recipient of the President’s medal for his distinguished and meritorious service in maintaining law and order in the state, the message stated.
Khing said the departed was a man of integrity and commitment who, after retirement, continued to serve the people as the village council chairman of Sendenyu village and also as the president of NDPP, Tseminyu region till his demise. “His commitment and hard work can be testified by the people who have worked with him and have come across him,” it added.
“In this time of sorrow and grief, I share the same with Mrs. Orenpeni and her children” the message said. Khing also conveyed prayers for the Almighty to grant the bereaved family the strength, peace and comfort, to bear the irreparable loss. The message concluded stating “May his soul rest in ever-lasting peace.”
NDPP Dimapur: NDPP Dimapur Region has expressed deep sadness over the sudden and untimely demise of K. Thong.
A condolence message from the units general secretary, Hollohon Chishi said that the loss will be particularly felt by the colleagues of late K. Thong and all who knew him.
The message said that late K. Thong steadfastly steered the party by bringing victory to the NDPP candidate at Tseminyu. The NDPP Dimapur Region president and colleagues conveyed their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members with prayers for the Almighty God to grant them courage to bear the tragic loss.
NDPP Zunheboto: NDPP Zunheboto region president Khehoshe H. Yeptho has expressed deep shock over the sudden and untimely demise of K. Thong. A condolence note from the president said that he had a steady relationship with the departed and worked jointly with him during the assembly elections. His demise was the loss of a steadfast and able leader of not only the NDPP but also the Rengma community, the note stated.
On behalf of NDPP Zunheboto region, Khehoshe offered his sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
