Condolences on Z. Obed’s demise

More individuals and organisation has mourned the demise of retired Chief Secretary and former Minister, Z. Obed, who passed away on January 30 from Dimapur after a brief illness. 

In a condolence message, the governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi stated that late Z. Obed had served the society in various capacities, as a teacher, head master, Indian Administrative Service Officer, Minister of Nagaland Government,  etc and in his death, the state has lost a dedicated and sincere public leader. He conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. 
TR Zeliang: In a condolence note, TR Zeliang while expressing pain over the demise of Z. Obed and said that late Z Obed was a prominent political figure and an eminent sportsman who was the Chief Secretary of Nagaland from 1980-82 and 1987-90. The leader of opposition said that as a bureaucrat and later as a politician, late Z. Obed dedicated his illustrious career to the service and cause of the Naga people.  Zeliang remembered him as a man who always stood for the truth and said that on his demise, the Naga people have lost one of the most brilliant and remarkable personality.  He also cherished many fond memories of late Obed as a friend, a brother and a leader of the highest standard.
Zeliang stated that Obed’s demise is a great loss to the Naga people and during this hour of sorrow, he extended deepest condolences and prayed that God grant solace and courage to the bereaved family members. He further wished the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
Thenucho Tunyi:  Former Home Minister Home, Thenucho Tunyi has expressed grief over the demise of Z. Obed Solo and described late Z. Obed as a calm and decisive administrator who worked with all dignity and dedication for the welfare of the state. Tunyi said that he was a seasoned politician with vast administrative background whose valuable advice in the decision making was imperative. “In his death, we have lost a true leader of the state and a noble soul,” Tunyi stated. He also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
SAH: Sümi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH) president, Inavi Swu and information and publicity secretary KA Jacob in a condolence message stated that late Obed served as the head master of government middle school at Pughoboto during early fifties and was one of the first pioneers who sacrificed for people of Pughoboto in the field of education. 
SAH stated that the present Government High School, Pughoboto was brought to the present level due to his sacrifice, when there was shortage of teacher to teach in the rural area and said that the present generation are indebted to his noble job for his contribution towards the area. SAH further conveyed condolence to his family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
