Conrad interacts with business community of Mymensingh

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday interacted with the business community, entrepreneurs and farmers at Mymensingh, Bangladesh, reports Northeast Now news.

“It is encouraging to witness people’s enthusiasm to engage in a different business initiative for economic growth,” Sangma said in a tweet.
The Meghalaya CM left for Dhaka on a four-day Bangladesh tour with a twenty-member delegation on Tuesday.
In this tour, Sangma engaged with business communities, traders and government to explore the potential of economic growth between the two regions.
The CM is accompanied by transport minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, education minister Lahkmen Rymbui, agriculture minister Banteidor Lyngdoh, and other senior officials, entrepreneurs and tour operators.
The delegation reached Mymensingh town in Bangladesh on Friday. Mymensingh town is south of Garo Hills in Meghalaya.
The delegation first reached Sylhet district of Bangladesh and visited some of the ruined places and monuments at Jaiñtiapur. According to folk tales, Jaiñtiapur remained as an independent kingdom under the Khasi king till 1824. 
The name of the kingdom was derived via the Pnar people in Jaiñtia Hills of Meghalaya. 
The delegation will head back to India later on Friday.
