An awareness programme on conservation and protection of forest and wildlife was organised by Wildlife Division, Dimapur at Mpai village, Peren district with participation of GBs, village council members and members of community reserve committee (CRC) on May 18. 

A press release from Wildlife Division, Dimapur stated that, Tokaho H Kinimi, wildlife warden, Wildlife Division, Dimapur, in his speech lauded the efforts of the village community in declaring their forest land as community reserve for protection and preservation of forests and wildlife. He appealed to the participants for cooperation and coordination with the department for protection, preservation and management of forests and wildlife. 
A short speech was delivered by chairman, Mpai Village Council who said that the villagers have been protecting and preserving their forests and wildlife over the last 10-15 years. He  assured the department of fullest support in their jurisdiction.  
A short documentary on wildlife conservation, “Nagaland is changing but….” was shown to the participants. Vote of thanks by delivered by Isaac Zeilang, Fr-I, WCCB, Wildlife Division, Dimapur. Altogether more than 50 people participated in the programme. Earlier, invocation was offered by Songlu, church secretary, Mpai Village Baptist Church.
