COTPA Flying Squad conducts checking

COTPA Flying Squad, Wokha national tobacco control programme (NTCP) Wokha conducted an enforcement drive around the shops near educational institutions on September 17.

According to DIPR report, DBs from District administration, representatives from Lotha Students’ Union, Wokha Circle Students’ Union and women police carried out the drive.
The squad penalized 6 (six) defaulters and seized tobacco products from the shops falling within the restricted areas. The shops were further warned from keeping and selling tobacco products according to COTPA, failing which they will be penalized to the law during such drive which will be done on regular basis in future. This was informed by UBI, O/C Wokha Police Station, Nchumbemo Kikon.
