COVID-19 count crosses 28k mark; death toll at 886

 NIndia’s novel coronavirus count has shot past 28,000 after the country recorded 1,463 fresh cases in the last 24 hour. According to the latest Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country increased to 28,380 Monday. 

The death toll due to the highly contagious disease has reached 886 since the outbreak.

Gobal tally crosses 2.9 million: Globally, the novel coroanvirus cases have surpassed 2.9 million count while the death toll has crossed 206,0000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University Data. United States accounts for more than 965,000 cases while the death toll in the country has neared 55,000-mark.

Nagaland: Results of 16 awaited

DIMAPUR, APR 27 (NPN): Health & Family Welfare department on Monday informed that 16 COVID-19 suspected samples, sent for testing from the State after 3 p.m. of April 26 till 3 p.m. of April 27, were awaited.
H&FW said that 629 (cumulative) samples were sent, out of which 613 samples have tested negative.
A total of 1,090 persons were screened and 31 persons were under facility quarantine, it said.
