COVID-19: DCs impose blanket ban on hunting

In view of World Health Organisation (WHO)’s declaration of the outbreak of the novel corona virus in china and other countries as the public health emergency of international concern, Deputy Commissioner (DCs) of Tuensang and Mon have imposed blanket ban on hunting of wildlife within their respective jurisdictions.

According to DIPR report, in a circular, DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant has notified all the village councils under Tuensang district that blanket ban on the hunting of wild animals has been  imposed within the jurisdiction of Tuensang District with immediate effect. 
In a separate circular, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, said in compliance with the advisory issued by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, government of Nagaland, hunting of wild animals and birds has been banned within the jurisdiction of Mon District with immediate effect.
