COVID cess on fuel: DNSU serves ultimatum on govt

Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) Saturday served an ultimatum on the state government to revoke the COVID-19 cess on petroleum products within four days.

In an ultimatum submitted to the chief minister thorough DC Dimapur, the union said it had already raised the issue twice, but the government failed to revoke its decision till date. Therefore, the DNSU said that its 3rd Union Assembly meeting held along with all constituent units discussed the issue and affirmed to serve four-day ultimatum.

Failure to address the demand, the union cautioned that it would along with its constituent units close down all the petroleum outlets within its jurisdiction besides block supply from every entry indefinitely.
