College of Veterinary Sciences & AH (CoVS & AH), Jalukie celebrated its 5th foundation day on August 6 at college conference hall, maintaining all SOPs.

According to a press release, prof. Arun Kumar Sangwan, dean of the college spoke about the achievements and discussed on strategies and how the Central Agricultural University mandate on teaching, research and extension activities can be achieved by the institute.

He also emphasised on the importance innovation in teaching and inculcating entrepreneurial and creative thinking amongst the student, making the students as employers rather than job seekers after their studies. 

On the occasion, the institute felicitated Dr. Imtiwati, assistant professor, department of Livestock Production Management, Dr. Bhabesh Mili, assistant professor, department of Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry, Dr Ksh. Mahesh Singh, assistant professor, department of Animal Breeding & Genetics, Dr Malsawmkima, assistant professor, department of Veterinary Anatomy, Njumthung Kithan, LDC and Takceulak, MTS  for their pioneering efforts while establishing the college during the initial years.  

While receiving the recognition, Dr. Imtiwati who is also the PRO of the college, thanked the state government for their generous donation of 266 acres of land to the college and thanked vice chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal on the decision to set up veterinary college in the state.

Further, he thanked the people of Jalukie for accommodating faculty and staff of College of Veterinary Sciences in a peaceful environment.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Soya Rungsung who concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
