Xelhozhe FC emerged as the champions of the five-day football tournament organised by 173 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in collaboration with Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) under the theme “Peace and Harmony” at Diphupar village local ground.

In the final, Xelhozhe FC defeated Diphupar FC (A) by 1-0.

Koto Kiho of Xelhozhe FC was adjudged the man of the tournament while Inaka of Diphupar Village FC was named the best goalkeeper.

Kito Kiho (Xelhozhe FC) and Dilo Koza (Koza Brothers FC) with 5 goals each were the highest scorer of the tournament.

Chairman of Impact Foundation International, Dr. T Lima Jamir, who graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour, said soccer is one of the most popular and most played sports in the world.

He encouraged the youths to chase their dreams when they are young. However, in order to make dreams come into reality, a person needs lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort, he added. Jamir also cited the example of late Dr. Talimeren Ao and encouraged the participants to be inspired by his contributions. 

He also lauded 173 Bn CRPF for extending their help to build talent and fostering peaceful co-existence and harmony. 

Delivering the welcome address, 173 BN CRPF Commandant, Joseph Keishing said the objective of organising such event was to sow the seed of peace and harmony. He also applauded the teams for their participation and wished them success in their endeavours.  

The programme was chaired by Neivinuo Dzüvichü, invocation prayer was offered by Gorkha Baptist Church Diphupar pastor Gideon Gurung, folk dance was presented by DSKK, Tsukoli Club and a special song was presented by Kevichünuo Chüpuo. The vote of thanks was delivered by president of Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO), Kikheto Sumi.
