CSUD appeals for release of CMSP for stranded citizens

Chakhesang Students’ Union, Delhi (CSUD) has appealed the government for the release of chief minister special package (CMSP) at the earliest to the stranded citizens waiting for the amount to be credited in their accounts.

A press release from CSUD joint secretary Rukukho Vese stated that, the current status of this package was closed for fresh applications and complaints, but there were many applicants in the beneficiary list yet to receive the benefits.
While appreciating the government for coming up with the initiative of one time assistance of Rs. 10,000 for the stranded citizens who had stayed back, the CSUD expressed hope that this programme would “not draw as much criticism as the previous relief fund which was poorly managed.”
It also urged upon the government and responsible authorities to help every single applicant “instead of finding ways and means to reject as many applications as possible by citing unreasonable claims”. Maintaining that this was not an academic scholarship or an employee benefit scheme but a life saving relief, the CSUD urged that formalities involved and the documents required for submission in the procedure for disbursement of funds should be minimal and flexible.
CSUD further appealed the government to reconsider the rejected list of the applicants as the citizens stranded outside are genuinely battling for survival.
While pointing out that applicants should also be able to provide bank account details of their siblings, spouses or parents due to genuine reasons, the CSUD stated that, a few thousand beneficiary lists should not require months to process especially in emergency situations.
