 Founder secretary of SOORYA, Soorya Krishnamoorthy said the SOORYA will join hands with the Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya to fulfil his dream of national integration through culture while addressing a cultural event at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on March 27. He stated that India’s peculiarity was Unity in Diversity and opined that cultural exchange programmes and events would help in brining the Nation closer and strengthen the country as one. 

Commissioner & secretary to Governor Nagaland, Dinesh Kumar, while delivering his welcome address stated that under the leadership of Governor Acharya, a number of events and programmes in the field of culture and other activities have been organised at the Raj Bhavan to show the peculiarity of India’s Unity in Diversity.  People of Nagaland have a well knit social organisation which was an excellent example of Unity in Diversity, he added.

Stating it a rare occasion where artistes from North-East and South India will be performing on a platform in Kohima, Dinesh Kumar appreciated Soorya Krishnamoorthi and his team for accepting the invitation to visit Nagaland. 

Renowned Indian dance research scholar, educator, performer and choreographer, Dr. Methil Devika performed the Mohiniyattam while dancer, T Reddy Lakshmi presented the Kuchipudi, both classical dances of India. The event also witnessed cultural performances by artiste from Nagaland, Assam and Manipur. 

The event at Raj Bhavan was jointly organised by Department of Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, NEZCC, Rattle and Hum Music Society and Indian National Fellowship, Mumbai.
